On April 29, 2025, SSC's Eli Segal served as a panelist at the Philadelphia Bar Association's Meeting the Moment 2025: Focus on LGBTQ+ Rights. The Philadelphia Bar Association launched its monthly Meeting the Moment series to further its mission by finding innovative ways to convene, communicate, and collaborate with different stakeholder groups, working toward the goal of defending democracy and assisting individuals whose rights are under attack. The event was graciously hosted by Ballard Spahr LLP.
As part of his constitutional-law-focused pro bono practice, Eli represented two transgender U.S. Air Force members in challenging the Trump Administration’s ban on transgender military members. At the Meeting the Moment panel, Eli discussed his work on that case, as well as the current state of the wide range of litigation challenging the President’s Executive Orders impacting the LGBTQ+ community.
